OVERVIEW
Drawing from my years of experience in the food and beverage industry, I set out to create a social platform that captures the sense of camaraderie and creativity found behind the bar. Tipsy is a community-driven mobile app designed for cocktail lovers of all skill levels—from seasoned bartenders to total beginners. The goal was to foster an inclusive, engaging space where users can learn, share, and connect over a shared passion for mixology.

THE PROBLEM
While food and drink bring people together, exploring cocktails at home can feel intimidating or inaccessible. Dining out is often expensive, and traditional cocktail culture can seem exclusive or unwelcoming—especially for those without bartending experience. As a result, many people stick to what they know and miss out on the creative potential of mixology.

THE SOLUTION
Tipsy reimagines the cocktail recipe book as a lightweight, image-forward social networking app. It combines the visual appeal of platforms like Instagram with the utility of recipe-sharing communities, creating a welcoming space for experimentation, education, and conversation.
The interface is designed to be minimal and approachable, reducing clutter while emphasizing photography, simple instructions, and user interaction. Through features like messaging, commenting, and user-submitted content, Tipsy empowers users to share recipes, exchange tips, and discover new ideas—without the gatekeeping or overwhelm of larger platforms.
