OVERVIEW
Squirmy is an experimental hand-lettered typeface I created as my first foray into type design.
I was searching for a unique decorative font to use within my website and personal branding, but couldn't find anything that quite fit the bill: I wanted something eye-catching and playful, but that maintained legibility even at smaller point sizes. Squirmy was born as a result of this.
Squirmy is a font that plays on the intersection between absurdity and agreeability; it is playful but bold, and functions best as a display font.
I enjoyed the entire process of this project and plan on making more experimental typefaces in the future.
